You're doing wonderful work! I love all of it!

Sometime, I would like to hear about your faith journey. Mine has been a long one, and I am now an Anglican Christian, as is my wife and our (adult) children.

I am non-denominational and I am so glad I found my way back to my faith. I would love to hear your testimonial sometime!!

My story is a long one. I will give only the briefest outline here. Raised in the Bible Church (kind of fundamentalist, but more evangelical). Presbyterian through high school (parents' choice). Skipped church the first 3 years of engineering school in NYC. Found a RCA (Reformed Church in America) church a few blocks from my apartment on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Stayed in that denomination through grad school at Purdue, except for one spiritually arid year when I tried to help a very loud Pentecostal campus preacher start up a new church. I was never so lonely in my Christian life as that year.

1983 - started attending an independent rather "reformed" church in Texas and stayed with that for 5 years. Moved to California and discovered Liturgy in the LCMS (Missouri Synod Lutherans). In 1990, joined an REC (Reformed Episcopal Church) in Southern California. Did one year in Tyler, Texas at another REC parish (where my brother is now assistant priest). Moved to Detroit in 1992 and went to Mariners' Church (on Jefferson, the church from Gordon Lightfoot's "Edmund Fitzgerald" song). I've basically been Anglican since 1990. Currently I'm the Senior Warden at Church of the Advent, which meets in Lake Orion. It's the tightest-knit Christian fellowship I've ever found, wonderful in every way. I'd describe it as "Anglo-Catholic" ... we're very happy there. Our son swings the thurible (incense) there every Sunday.
